Testimonial of the Month

July

Our latest testimonial comes from a freelance writer and web consultant who used to struggle managing lots of clients and projects.

"Being a more-than-full-time freelance writer and web consultant can get crazy if you don’t have it together. I juggle numerous clients with multiple projects and work to deadline every minute of the work day. Forgetting even one piece of vital information or missing a deadline can destroy everything I’ve worked so hard to build and can ultimately hurt my clients businesses as well.

Project management is a key part of what I do, if I can’t manage my own work how can I manage the projects my clients entrust to me? It’s all in the details and if there isn’t a way to manage those details effectively you’ve lost the battle.

I’ve struggled through the years to find project management software that worked for me. I’ve wasted countless hours trying to beat the learning curve on some of the most popular CRM products out there and ultimately, gave up in frustration. Then I ran across a link to Project Bubble in a forum and decided to give it a try.

I was able to start managing my clients and projects within minutes of signing up. There isn’t a learning curve as all functions and features are intuitive and straightforward. I can now manage all of my clients, projects, invoices and more from one God-send of a platform. I can even give access to my clients for collaboration on team projects. My favorite feature is the time tracker — I can now track all time spent on each project.

Now I know where my time is going and identifying areas and processes I need to streamline. Project Bubble has changed my life. Stu and team, thanks a million!"

Take Project Bubble with you wherever you go!

Hold up, we're not talking about an iPhone app here (sorry!), this this is something you can wear: introducing the Project Bubble T-Shirt Competition 2010!

We want an eye-catching yet simple t-shirt that reflects Project Bubble with one glance. We will sell the t-shirt in our shop and we want you to design it!

Here's what you can win:

  • 1 years subscription to our Enterprise account (worth $600)
  • The winning t-shirt, sent to your door
  • Lots of glory

2 runners up will win:

  • The winning t-shirt, sent to your door
  • A bit of glory

What you need to do

All you need to do is download our brand EPS files and then submit the design to us in PDF format. (Other formats may be ok but make sure you send it in vector format.)

Be creative, the sky is the limit. The only requirement is you get our logo on there somewhere. We suggest a simple catchy phrase, and just a few colours to make printing easier.

Where to submit your entry

When you have finished designing you can email it to us at hello@projectbubble.com, or you can Tweet it using the hash tag #pbcompetition, and we will collate all the entries on Twitter so you can see them as they come in.

Closing date

The closing date for the competition is August 1st 2010.

How will it be judged?

You guys will judge the entries! You'll only be able to vote once though so make it count, and please don't vote for your own entry.

Please re-tweet this, and have fun designing!

iPhone & iPad Apps

We know a lot of you are eagerly anticipating our iPhone & iPad apps and we have announced in the past that the apps will be ready in July. Unfortunately however, you might have to wait a while longer because of unforeseen delays.

So here's the deal - basically we are building our API at the moment and this is nearly complete. We have a genius developer putting it together called Jamie and we will be releasing info on it shortly. The API will basically allow apps to securely connect to the Project Bubble database.

The idea was to hold off on web-based development while we built the API and then have another company help us build the iPhone & iPad app while the API was being finalized. Then we were going to release all three things together in the summer.

Unfortunately though the company we were working with sadly let us down and backed out of the deal, so now we have an API but no official iPhone or iPad app in development.

However don't panic because this is what we are going to do.

Tips & Tricks: Creating Project Templates

Posted: Jul 13th 2010 (0 comments)

Our tips & tricks series shows you how to get the most out of Project Bubble. We update the series often with tips such as how to share a project with your client, and how to create an invoice for your project in just a few seconds.

Save Lots of Time

That's what Project Bubble is all about - saving your time. You may find that when you create projects, they often contain the same set of tasks and have the same pricing. You don't really want to have to re-create this set of tasks every time you get a new project from a client.

So this is where Project Templates come in very handy.

New Round of Updates

We have just finished working on another round of updates which I'm sure a lot of you will find incredibly useful.

Firstly, we are about to launch our Enterprise plan which will allow sub-domains (or your own domain), a branded interface and login page and unlimited users. We are launching this next week and in the mean time all those on the Small Business plan can get access to a BETA version of those features for no extra cost (available in the My Company page).

Secondly, we have released a few minor updates which have been requested by you.

  • We have integrated a small calendar on the Dashboard
Although it's simple, it is actually very useful if you want a quick overview of projects that are due over the coming month or two. We hope to add Due Tasks and Due Invoices to the calendar too soon. Just hover your mouse over the highlighted dates to see what's happening.
  • We have enhanced the Project Manager permission set
Previously project managers could NOT edit projects or tasks that didn't belong to them, but a lot of you found this frustrating because you needed your project managers to be able to edit projects or tasks they were invited to. So now users with the Project Manager permission can edit projects and tasks they are invited to, while Collaborators get the same basic permissions.
  • The Dashboard is a little prettier
It's the little things in life.
  • We have fixed a few bugs and stuff like that.
    Always improving.

So we hope you enjoy these new updates! More coming soon for Invoicing. Plus don't forget the API and developer site, also coming soon.
